Defender Zik and the crew of the Temerity leap into orbit on the news of the strange new vessels which have appeared in the Zozian solar system. As they race to the edge of the system, Francisco informs them that almost every Zozian ship in the local area is doing the same. Zik inquires as to the reaction of the strangers to all this attention, and Francisco informs him that they're holding steady, in a defensive formation.

Just then, Amelia announces that the strangers are broadcasting a message.  They tune in, and are greeted by an official delegation from the Indian Galactic Empire, with their leader Maharajah Abhijat Vyas.  He assures everyone that their intentions are peaceful, and Defender Zik broadcasts a welcome in reply.  Zoot informs him that basically everyone else is also replying, all at the same time, which gets a chuckle out of Zik in sympathy for the Indian comms crew.  Admiral James Anchor asserts himself as the commander of the largest ship in the system, and offers to escort the Maharajah to Zoz, where he and his entourage can meet with some Zozian elders. Vyas agrees, and they begin the transit to Zoz.

Defender Zik reflects on the newcomers. Thankfully, it isn't the looming attack by Queen Elcyra that everyone's been bracing for, but how in the world did this Indian empire manage to find them so quickly?
